The Safe Door Project
Purpose
Domestic-violence-specific awareness and fundraising campaign operating under the TNT Safe Nights Initiative, focused on helping people leaving abusive situations access immediate safety.
Who It Serves
Domestic violence survivors of any gender and families impacted by domestic violence
Frequency
Year-round campaign with October awareness activation
Format
Fundraising, awareness, partnership building, and future annual event
Typical Length
Campaign-based
Launch / Status
Soft launch planned for Domestic Violence Awareness Month; full event can scale later
How It Works
Purple-key symbolism represents helping someone reach a safe door. Funds raised through the campaign may be designated for DV-related Safe Nights hotel stays and survivor-support needs. The campaign can include a small office display, sponsor asks, awareness materials, hotel partnerships, and a future Purple Key/Safe Door event at a partner venue.
Partner / Facilitator Role
DV agencies, hotels, community sponsors, donors, advocates, speakers, and in-kind partners.
Basic Setup
Small wall/display concept for office; campaign tracker; sponsor sheet; donation language; DV resource/referral partners.
Success Looks Like
DV-designated funds raised, hotel nights funded, partnerships developed, public awareness increased, and survivor privacy protected.
